WinOnX 2 Pro App Reviews
Useless
Just bought it so I could open an specific .exe and it’s useless. Lost U$7,00 for this shitty app
I read the bad reviews, checked with WINE compatability and the one app I want to use works in WINE. So I thought maybe it would work here, and if it didn’t, it wasn’t a huge loss. Well the app crashes every time I try to run it, and WinOnX crashes as well. Don’t buy this app. I have no idea what apps actually work in it, their website doesn’t say it at all.
I read the bad reviews, I hope it could work at least one time, so I purchesed it. This app is not working at all !!!! It creashed every time I tried to run this app!! I don’t know why, and how this app can exist in app store! Don’t buy this app!! Waste money!!!!!
Wasted my money
I downloaded this app and it kept crashing when I wanted to open my file. I found another way to get what I needed done. Don’t bother with this app.
I had the previous version, WinonX. Worked fine in Mavericks. When I upgraded to El Capitan, I had a few snags. I decided to go for the money since the previous version worked well for me. This newer version, WinonXPro now works well for me also. It starts virtually instantly. On other machines I have Parallels but that needs a version of Windows and also takes forever to load. ( I think a function of windows). As I added new machines I began using WinonX. Since I really only use one Windows program and it works very well for that and also starts virtually instantly, it is much better, cheaper and faster for me. Keep up the good work. I hope that when Sierra comes out that I won’t have any problems. I have begun to rely on the product. By the way, the program that I use it for is Upstart, the control program for UPB home automation products. It works great for that. I wish there was a little more documentation on how to navigate the program but once you figure it out it works great.
They dont tell you on the app store description that its only for 32 bit apps, and support and documantation is just not there. i feel a bit misled. Buyer beware i guess but i thought apple made sure that…oh never mind,.
Useless
Crashes every time I open anything. Waste of $8, would love a refund.
STOP! Don’t toss your VMware Fusion, Parallels or Bootcamp options out just yet. While WinOnX 2 Pro is a very valid packaging of Wine, it’s not by any means flawless. In fact, Wine has lots of problems running Windows 32 apps under OS X. Take time to go to the developer’s website and read ALL the disclaimers about what is not supported. Go into the project assuming what you want to run will not run. If it does, then it’s all upside. Full disclosure is I’m a big fan of WMware Fusion and have been for years. It’s flawless in its execution of most operating systems running under OS X. That being said, it’s also $79.00 for the standard version. Pros: WinOnX 2 Pro is only $8! What else can you get for $8 these days. All the compiling of the Vine source code and file creation is already done for you. (That alone is worth the $8.) If your new or just curious about VM’s WinOnX 2 Pro might be a good option for you to learn more. WinOnX 2 Pro appears to support some of the basic Windows XP generation software programs quite well. Check the publisher’s website for details on what programs have already been tested. Cons: Don’t count on an 800 number for support. Also the publisher’s website has little to no documentation to help walk you through problems and challenges you might run across. Programs which require heavy graphics and/or significant I/O support might be better on an alternative VM option. Plus, WinOnX 2 Pro has a ‘nag’ screen which reminds you every time a program starts it’s not a known program. Seeing it once is enough for me. Give me the option to not see it again. Summary: WinOnX 2 Pro is not ready for prime time. Unless you’re willing to experiment my recommendation is look to another VM option. WinOnX 2 Pro is not stable enough for the average user.
force closes all the time and can not read cfg files so 89 pecent of the exe games do not work . it would be nise if on there website they had a list of all applications
